The OptoCooler HV37 thermoelectric module is ideally suited for the cooling and temperature control of optoelectronic devices such as semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA), laser diodes and LEDs, and enables the integration of thermal management capabilities directly into a package. The OptoCooler HV37 is the latest module in Nextreme's OptoCooler family of thermoelectric coolers designed for the photonics industry.
At 85°C, the OptoCooler™ HV37 can create a temperature differential (ΔT) of up to 60°C between its hot and cold sides, and operates at a maximum voltage of 7.7V, making it compatible with commonly found board-level currents and voltages. At 25°C, the device can create a ΔT of up to 50°C with a maximum voltage of 5.9V.
With Nextreme's thin-film technology at its core, the OptoCooler HV37 module can be integrated directly into electronic packaging to deliver cooling for a wide variety of thermal management applications. For example, the module can be embedded in a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) package to maintain proper operating conditions. SOAs are used in telecommunications systems to restore degraded optical signals to their original quality without converting them into electronic signals. SOAs are key components for the future success of high-speed photonic networks.
The module can be used for a number of optoelectronic applications including laser diodes, VCSELs, and photo-detectors.
The OptoCooler HV37 module operates with heat fluxes more than 10 times greater than conventional thermoelectric coolers. In addition, the module's extremely small footprint opens up new thermal management capabilities in electronics that were previously unavailable.
The OptoCooler HV37 module is available with an 8 to 10 week delivery lead time. Pricing is available upon request.
